Live at Bond kicks off 2019 with a huge happy new year, celebrate summertime concert featuring two fantastic bands, local favourites Electrik Lemonade, and Brisbane's First Beige.
Electrik Lemonade is a merry band of funklords playing a repertoire of funk, hip hop, blues, soul and dance music. Last year saw them do a 28,000 kilometre national tour, play at the country's biggest music festivals including the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and received well-deserved acknowledgement as one of Australia's best live acts. Drawing on a unique blend of influences while combining their comedic, fun attitude toward life, they present a compelling and energetic live show. They've recorded a new album, slated for release in April. They're bringing the funk to Bond and if you haven't seen Electrik Lemonade before, you're in for a killer free show.
First Beige are a class-act Brisbane group whose eclectic, genre-bending sound re-imagines elements of disco, soul and funk. Since the release of their debut EP Press! back in November 2017, the band has solidified themselves as one of the most vibrant live acts out of the Brisbane scene, with their disco tinged grooves, unhinged synths, irresistible vocal hooks and jazzy flute, and influences reminiscent of Jamiroquai, Flying Lotus, Parcels and Jordan Rakei.
