COVID-19 (coronavirus): Latest advice for the Bond community.

Getting into Bond University from 2021

From 2020, the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) will replace the Overall Position (OP) as the pathway to tertiary study for Queensland Year 12s.

The ATAR will be introduced for students commencing Year 11 in 2019, who will graduate in 2020 and seek entry to tertiary programs from 2021. This will bring Queensland in line with other Australian states and territories.

The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) will calculate ATARs for graduating high school students. Visit the QTAC ATAR web page for more information on the ATAR.

Can I use a VET qualification for entry?

For 2021 admission, Bond University will continue to accept VET Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualifications for entry with the following assigned ranks. Please note that the assigned selection rank is provided as a guide only.

VET qualification$

Assigned selection rank

Completed ungraded AQF Certificate IV

74 (equivalent OP12)

Completed ungraded AQF Diploma

78 (equivalent OP10)

Completed ungraded AQF Advanced Diploma

91 (equivalent OP5)

Graded VET qualifications will be assigned a rank based on the grades attained.

Have you completed an in-School VET qualification?

If you complete a VET qualification in school and successfully complete Year 12 (with or without an ATAR), Bond will consider your VET qualification for admission. You may be required to demonstrate English language proficiency by passing the English subject with a grade of C or better, or by undertaking an English proficiency test and achieving the required scores for entry.

If you have also attained an ATAR, then, Bond University will consider the higher ranked of the two qualifications (ATAR or VET) for admission. Advanced standing (credit) may be provided in a similar undergraduate degree.

For admission to Bond University from 2021 onwards, ungraded VET qualifications will no longer be accepted for direct entry into the following programs:
