Did you know that the Main Library has been a collection point for recycling old batteries for over two years?
Visit the Main Library service desk and give your small batteries to our friendly staff who will tape them in preparation to be recycled. Safely disposing of old batteries reduces the quantity of hazardous materials that end up in landfill and helps make our environment that little bit safer for everyone.
Here are some useful battery tips:
- Switch to rechargeable batteries where possible. Rechargeable batteries are not only better for the environment, but they save you money too.
- Use up the charge in batteries as much as you can.
- Shift your batteries around your devices until they are fully flat.
- Make sure to recycle all of your batteries, rechargeable, and non-rechargeable.
