Professional biography

Retired honorary adjunct

Cynthia D. Fisher received a Ph. D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Purdue University in 1978. She is Professor and Head of the Management Department in the Faculty of Business at Bond University and has previously held faculty posts at Texas A&M University, the University of Baltimore, and the National University of Singapore. Her teaching areas include organisational behaviour and human resource management. Her research interests include causes and effects of real-time emotions at work, attitude--behaviour relationships, and work motivation. Prof. Fisher has served on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. She has also been on the Australian Research Council's College of Experts for the Social, Behavioural, and Economic Sciences. Her research has been funded by large grants from the Office of Naval Research and the Australian Research Council.
