The combined Masters degree in Sustainable Environments and Planning and Project Management enables students interested in being an environmental planner to gain specialised knowledge related to urban design and planning and its influence on the natural environment. Sustainable development is an important contemporary pursuit in the context of human-induced climate change. It is also an international endeavour, where finite resources are a limit to the growth of human settlements worldwide. Therefore, a combined understanding of the environmental planning process together with the generic principles of successful management of scope, time, cost, risk, human resources, quality, procurement, stakeholders and environmental impact, and their balanced integration, is most valuable. Environmental planners may be involved in design, planning, construction and operation of our built environment within the confines of acceptable habitat impact. Graduates of this degree are internationally recognised by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The program is also accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). Show less
