Student industry experiences

Bond graduates are the first choice for many leading blue-chip employers, and have been for decades now. Over the years, we have established partnerships with employers that extend beyond the recruitment process, and that have ultimately become an integral part of our award-winning student experience.

We have partnerships with industry leaders from all across Australia and the world. You’ll meet representatives from these partnerships from your earliest days at university – at on-campus guest lectures, working on real-life project-based assignments, and at networking events. They are involved in research projects, scholarship programs, and sponsorship of on-campus events, and offer work placement opportunities that can – and have – turned into full-time jobs after graduation.

Our industry partners are also integral to our learning experience, serving on advisory boards to ensure our degrees incorporate the most current industry practice. This means that as a Bond student, you’ll be learning the skills and knowledge that are most relevant to your industry of choice and will help you to stand head and shoulders above the rest when you enter the workforce.

Bond degrees are inextricably linked to industry, informed by current practice and standards.

Degrees designed by industry – for industry

Each of our faculties and study areas are guided by a relevant advisory board, made up of representatives from a broad cross-section of high-profile industry partners. These relationships ensure that our teaching not just meets, but exceeds industry best practice, and is totally up to date with the latest technologies, theoretical underpinnings, processes, and guidelines.

One of the benefits of being a small university is that we can quickly respond to new developments and disruptions. The expertise of our advisory boards is what has helped us to get ahead of the curve in creating future-focused learning experiences, such as big data integration and our cutting-edge Transformation degrees.

Blurring the line between industry and academia

Guest lecturers are a highlight of the Bond learning experience. We have regular events like the Architecture Lecture Series, which features renowned designers from around the world, and Bond Law’s Twilight Seminar Series, which consists of both live panel discussions and webinars. Of course, events just make up one part of our strong involvement with industry in this space – we also welcome industry professionals to guest lecture on campus, providing students with unmatched insight into their career of choice, and offer mentorship from business leaders as part of Transformer, our Australian-first start-up incubator program.

Our academics move just as easily between two worlds – consulting to industry, running their own businesses, working in medical, legal, accounting, financial planning practices, conducting research, and presenting at industry conferences, in addition to their roles at Bond.

Only-at-Bond industry experiences

Our partnerships with industry lead to exceptional work placements and internships for our students. Travel to a remote Pacific Island to undertake a clinical rotation in a one-doctor hospital, or pursue your love of surf and sand while learning key professional skills with the World Surf League right here on the Gold Coast. Only-at-Bond experiences like these ensure our graduates stand out from the crowd throughout their degrees, and when it’s time to enter the workforce.

Unlike at many other universities, these experiences aren’t far and few between, either – our small student cohort means that every student has access to these incredible opportunities.
