Open Day is an opportunity to explore your future. Do you want to make a name in the film and television industry? Do you dream of designing sustainable cities? Making a difference in the health and wellbeing of others? Your potential is limitless!

Bond University Faculty of Society & Design alumni have forged their paths in a diverse range of industries. They’re creators, innovators, designers and game-changers, and you’ll be able to hear from five of them on Open Day on Saturday, 27 July.

Sean Tobin | Bachelor of Communication (Business) (CRICOS 063063G), majoring in PR and Marketing

Sean Tobin is the Co-Founder and Director of Australian media platform exclusive insight. Sean founded the website, featuring interviews and stories from sport superstars, alongside AFL athlete Gary Ablett.

Sean majored in Public Relations and Marketing and developed exclusive insight after meeting Gary Ablett while Sean was working as the Media Relations and Communications Coordinator at the Gold Coast SUNS Football Club.

Maude Connolly | Bachelor of Property (CRICOS 078181A)

Maude Connolly has a passion for property. It’s why she chose to study a Bachelor of Property at Bond University.

Maude launched OurHomeSale.co last year with the intention of disrupting the property industry, while saving consumers money. The platform simplifies the buying and selling process, and was born from Maude and brother Joe’s desire to start a property business with a social conscience.

Maude is also an Assistant Property Manager at PDS Group.

Shuktika Bose | Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours) (CRICOS 063047G) and Master of Psychology (Clinical) (CRICOS 063429E)

Shuktika Bose is a Clinical Psychology Registrar for youth mental health support service Headspace, and previously worked for Queensland Corrective Services.

Shuktika completed her pathway to psychology at Bond University, where she had the opportunity to complete internships and gain practical experience in the industry, including at the Bond University Psychology Clinic. She also works as an Adjunct Teaching Fellow, training Bond psychologists in-the-making.

David Gray | Bachelor of Architectural Studies (CRICOS 0101291) and Master of Architecture (CRICOS 078184J)

David wanted to study architecture because of his passion for thoughtful design and the impact architecture has on the community and our built environment.  

It all started at Bond, where David completed his undergraduate in Architectural Studies and went on to complete the Master of Architecture. David now works as a Business Development Coordinator at Architecture BVN, whose track record includes London 2012 Olympic Athlete Village, Taronga Zoo and the ANZ Stadium redevelopment.

David previously worked at MODE Design and HASSELL.

Emily Tate | Bachelor of Film and Television (CRICOS 063066E)

With the Gold Coast asserting its reputation as a hub for Hollywood blockbusters, the future is bright for Bond filmmakers like Emily Tate.

Emily studied a Bachelor of Film and Television at Bond, where she honed her production and filmmaking skills. Emily worked on the 2016 film Suicide Squad, 2017’s Ghost In The Shell and is the Production Secretary for Godzilla vs Kong, to be released in 2020.

Emily is also a Production Executive at PROXi Cinematic VR.
