Research degrees

Our world would be a very different place without the dedication, drive, and innovation of researchers. From breaking new ground in healthcare and biomedical science, to discoveries across law, economics, architectural studies, psychology, and more, researchers and research institutions around the world are responsible for countless developments each year. Simply put, by pursuing a career in research, you have the potential to affect real change and impact the course of our world.

The higher degree by research (HDR) experience here at Bond University is unique, set apart from other institutions due to our personalised approach to education and tightknit, collaborative community of academics and students. We offer a broad range of HDR-eligible research areas across several programs and four faculties.

Why HDR at Bond?

There are a number of reasons students from all over the world choose to continue their educational journeys at Bond University.

World-leading academics and researchers

Our cohort of academic teaching staff and researchers is highly regarded and comprises many world leaders in their respective fields. The opportunity to learn closely from these experts, in small group settings and one-on-one through the research supervision process, is a key element of our HDR programs.

Dedicated support

Bond HDR students receive extensive support during their research and studies. They have access to dedicated physical spaces to connect with other students, researchers, and their academics and supervisor. The Higher Degree by Research Unit at Bond is also a key resource for all students completing a HDR program, and provides students with administrative support. With support spanning the Higher Degree by Research Unit and supervisory staff, you will have access to advice, support, and training as you navigate the complexities of undertaking high-level research.

Award-winning student experience

For the better part of two decades, Bond University has been rated #1 in Australia for student experience, and this is exemplified by everything we do, from the quality of our teaching staff to the learning resources on offer, our world-class facilities, and more.
