The decision to further your career

Where you study your postgraduate qualification will truly dictate what your overall university experience – and beyond – entails. Thousands of international postgraduate students from all walks of life have weighed up their options, ultimately landing on Bond for many reasons, a primary one being our professional master’s degrees. Completed in 92 weeks (5 semesters or approximately 21 months), these unique programs combine our trademark accelerated learning style with a 20-week work-integrated learning component. This is the first step towards a global career for many graduates, as it provides valuable international experience.

As a result, you’ll commence your studies confident that the next 92 weeks will mould you into an industry-ready professional with the right skills to stand out in your chosen field.

Your accelerated pathway

Of course, this isn’t the only component of studying at Bond that sees international students coming back year after year. When you are first getting to know Bond University, you might notice that our degrees are completed in a shorter time frame than most other universities. This is because we work off a three-semester-per-year timetable, with shorter breaks between semesters. A professional master’s degree at Bond takes around the same time as a master’s degree at another university, but the differentiator is that you will graduate with 20 weeks’ worth of real-life experience in your sector. If you’d prefer to finish university even faster, you might decide to undertake one of our traditional master’s degrees, which span three or four semesters (12 to 18 months).

Links to industry from day one

So, what does it actually look like to study a professional master’s degree at Bond? When you first join us on campus, you will be immersed in our supportive community of students from all over the world, receive one-on-one guidance from your academics, and make use of our cutting-edge facilities. Along with these crucial aspects of the university experience, you will be exposed to Bond’s focus on employability and industry connectedness from day one.

As a university, we are proud of our links to industry, which are embedded in most of our degrees – particularly our professional master’s programs. Whether you are learning from the best in the business through guest lectures, gaining work experience with your dream employer via our on-site Career Development Centre, or connecting with a professional mentor at networking events, there are numerous ways to get involved with industry throughout your degree. Architecture students spend time in real design firms, construction management students head out onto building sites, and MBA students can even embark on global study tours, visiting best-in-class companies all over the world.

If entrepreneurship is where your passion lies, Bond University is the perfect place to further your studies. Each and every student regardless of discipline has access to Transformer, our fee-free, extracurricular start-up incubation program. Participating in Transformer is an unmatched way to bring a product to service to life whilst honing your entrepreneurial skill set and receiving personalised mentorship from academics and industry leaders.

After a few weeks, or perhaps even days, on campus, you will come to understand that everything we do at Bond is uniquely personalised. Our small student cohort means that you can receive individual guidance and support from the people around you, whether they are academics, your peers, or support staff at the Academic Skills Centre and Career Development Centre.

The Career Development Centre (CDC) is an infinite resource for career-driven students, and is just as personalised as every other component of the Bond experience. Whether you are pursuing postgraduate study to accelerate your current career, switch industries, gain an attractive professional qualification, or specialise in your chosen field, the Career Development Centre can help you achieve those goals through their suite of services. In addition to assistance with resume writing and interviewing, the CDC can broker work experience opportunities that are tailored to your specific ambitions. Career Development Centre services are available to our Bondies for life, providing support not just during your studies but far beyond.
