Meet Master of Business Administration (CRICOS 108627A) - Corporate alumna Glenda Abraham.
What is your current role?
Chief Engagement Officer at Mine Super.
Where are you based?
Brisbane – but it’s a national role so I am based wherever our stakeholders need me.
Why did you choose to attend Bond?
Bond was highly recommended by my manager who also graduated from Bond.
What are your recollections of your time here?
It was a fast-paced program with a balance between theory and practical. I developed some lifetime connections. The compressed “Education Week” enabled my study focus, allowing me to return to my employer with the right level of work focus.
How has being a Bond graduate helped you in your career?
Having a Masters ticks a number of boxes within a resume.
What have been your career highlights so far?
Proving hard work and discipline does pay off with a fast-tracked career progression. Landing my current role which enables autonomy and travel. Overseeing and implementing some major projects.
What advice would you give to current Bondies?
Hold in there, don’t lose sight of your end goal.
What does it mean to you to be a Bondy?          Â
The University has a positive brand in market and an elite connotation. Both stand me in good light within the financial industry.
What is your favourite memory of Bond?
Graduating with a High Distinction GPA! Being called separately to receive my degree and having my mum and my manager in the audience to witness it.
Anything else you would like to share?
I am a senior level female manager. There aren’t many of us in either finance or the resources sector (I cross both sectors). Women still have a glass ceiling and seeing more and more females complete their studies, pursue their careers and join together will ensure we bridge this gap.
