Meet our Bondies | Tanille Turner

In our first 30 years, almost 30,000 alumni have graduated from Bond University. To celebrate our 30th anniversary, weโ€™re showcasing some of the past students who have paved the way for the next generation of Bondies.

Meet Tanille Turner.

What is your current role?

I am an Investigator, Professional Conduct at the College of Nurses of Ontario. I examine the conduct and activities of nurses in Ontario as they relate to professional standards via complaints from members of the public and reports from employment settings.

Where are you based?

Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada.

Why did you choose to attend Bond?

While studying my undergraduate degree and researching law schools to go to, I serendipitously met a neighbour who attended Bond for her JD. After a casual meeting over tea and cake, I was sold!

What are your recollections of your time here?

I recall a lot of long hours studying! As for the good times โ€“ the beautiful campus, the social atmosphere, and making friends to last a lifetime.

How has being a Bond graduate helped you in your career?

The practical experience that comes from having tutorials with small class sizes and real-life examples of legal skills that apply to work have been incredibly helpful.

What have been your career highlights so far?

Landing my current role was definitely a dream: I work for an organization whose mandate is regulating the largest health profession in Ontario in the public interest and I know that I am working in line with my own values every day.

What advice would you give to current Bondies?

Take deep breaths! Itโ€™s okay to not have it all figured out yet. Keep your eyes and ears open for new opportunities all the time.

What does it mean to you to be a Bondy?

Being a Bondy means being part of a global network of people who share the common goal of being good at what they do and knowing how to have fun while they do it.

What is your favourite memory of Bond?

Finding shared community and understanding with fellow late-night studiers in the โ€œBat Labs.โ€

Anything else you would like to share?

 Happy 30th anniversary, you beauty!
