About the Position
Bond Business School is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor (Level A or B) with expertise in Accounting in either a balanced teaching/research role or as a teaching focussed position. The successful applicant will teach across a range of accounting subjects, including Accounting Principles and Accounting Information Systems. They will be expected to undertake some research activity at a level deemed appropriate to the rank of appointment and the allocated workload.

The workload allocation will be determined at the discretion of the Executive Dean taking into consideration the successful applicant’s prior experience and qualifications to ensure the best fit for the role. The person in this role will also be required to contribute towards various service activities which support the School’s strategic needs. Further requirements of the position are outlined in the attached selection criteria.

About the person

The successful candidate will be an experienced accounting educator who prides themselves on delivering a high-quality student learning experience. They will have:

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • An emerging track record of teaching excellence in relevant undergraduate and postgraduate accounting subjects including, but not limited to, Accounting Principles and Accounting Information Systems.
  • Proficiency in using active, experiential teaching methods.
  • The ability to contribute to curriculum development and design, assessment design, and delivery of content primarily via face-to-face teaching.
  • Ongoing engagement in research with an existing record of high-quality research publications.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with colleagues in the Business School and across the wider university community.

Candidates seeking a balanced teaching/research position will be actively publishing in high quality academic publications aligned with the discipline area. They will demonstrate a capacity to undertake high quality research and have the potential to contribute to the supervision of research higher degree students. The ability to collaborate with other researchers in applications for research grant funding is also desirable.

Candidates seeking a teaching focussed position will ideally have clear and sustained connections with industry through previous employment and/or current involvement with professional associations, committee or board memberships, or relevant consulting roles.

Salary details

The salary for the position is outlined below and will be negotiated commensurate on skills and experience.

  • Assistant Professor A remuneration commences at $154,787.26 per annum plus 17.5% superannuation.
  • Assistant Professor B remuneration commences at $130,234.21 per annum plus 17.5% superannuation.
