About the Position

Bond University are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our Food and Beverage Department at Bond University. Reporting to and deputising for the Head Chef, you will ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen, focusing on high-quality food preparation, menu innovation, and adherence to FSANZ regulations. You will manage cost control, portion sizes, and the labour costs of kitchen staff, while also overseeing their development, training, and mentoring. Your leadership will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our students and guests.

About the person

To be successful in securing one of these fantastic roles you will have:

  • Completed apprenticeship and trade certificate, alongside a Diploma in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen. 
  • Proven ability to innovate in menu development, excellent communication skills, and strong financial management capabilities.
  • A commitment to exceptional customer service and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure are essential. 
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations is also a key part of this role.

Salary details

The salary for this role commences at $89,861.22 plus superannuation. The salary is comprised of a base salary of $69,838.52 plus Super and an F&B loading.
