Borrowing resources

Loans
The length of the loan varies depending on account expiry date, membership type and the item type.
Standard loans more than 14 days overdue, and high demand items more than 2 days overdue, will be declared lost resulting in recovery costs charges.

Textbooks & subject resources
Textbooks and other materials recommended by educators for your subject that are in high demand are available for 3 hour loans, or 7 day loans.
- 3 hour reserve loans may be renewed once at the Library's discretion. They may not be renewed by phone.
- 3 hour reserve loans may be extended overnight if borrowed within 3 hours of the Library Service Desk closing.
- 7 day loans may be renewed once if not requested by someone else. Click & Collect requests may be placed for 7 day loans.

Penalties
Demerit points accrue for overdue loans. At 10 points your borrowing privileges will be suspended.

- Reserve collection
- 7 day loans
- Requested items
Recovery costs are not refundable when the Library has ordered a replacement copy, or after the refund period has elapsed. Items returned to the library after the non-refundable Cost Recovery Fee has been charged will be retained for student collection for 6 months.
After the refund period, fees will be transferred to the student system and will no longer appear in "My Library". Please liaise directly with Student Accounts for payment.
The Library does not charge daily accruing overdue fines.

Loan renewals & extensions
Standard loans, 7 day loans and 3 day loans will automatically renew up to a maximum number of days unless they are requested by someone else. Each item will have a minimum loan period.
Automatic renewals are processed the day before the item is due back. Before that, you can renew your loan via Library Search manually.

Contact us to request an extension from the lending library.

Overdue, lost and damaged items

Accessing online resources
Current students and staff can access online resources through links in the Library’s website, Library Search and from within iLearn subject sites. Access over the Wi-Fi network and from off-campus may require authentication using your Bond network account details.
