Faculty librarians are key team members for achieving these goals. They facilitate communication between the Library and each Faculty to match services and resources to academic requirements.
Your faculty librarian can also provide support and training on information skills; assistance locating resources for teaching; advice on embedding resources and information skills into iLearn subject sites. Just ask if you would like them to visit your class.
To meet copyright and licensing obligations, book chapters and journal articles must be managed by the Library rather than uploaded directly to iLearn. The Library provides a Resource List service that plugs in directly to your subject sites in iLearn.
Resource Lists are a consistent way for students to access and engage with the resources you recommend to them, including textbooks, videos, reports, articles and website links.
Online and streaming video content can be added to your resource lists including licensed Library content as well as video sourced from online sites such as Vimeo and Youtube.

The Reserve Collections in the Main and Law libraries contain hard copies of materials that are in high-demand to support teaching programs. Items are available to students on short loans of 3 hours. Usually, one copy of textbooks or DVDs is placed in the Reserve Collection with additional copies on 7-day loan.
Tag the citation in your resource list with "Add to Course Reserve". If you are not using a resource list contact your Faculty Librarian.
You can check in Library Search or your Resource List to confirm the availability of items in the reserve collection.
E-Reserve
In your resource list, you can easily see if the Library already has access to full-text articles or ebooks. When we don't have licensed content for a citation, the Library can digitise one chapter or article, or make 10% of a work available at any one time on behalf of the whole University. When permission has been obtained from the copyright holder, these can also be managed by the Library. In your resource list:
Add the citation details
Upload a pdf if you already have a copy
Tag the citation with "Scan to eReserve"
Links to digitised content will be available to students within the resource list
If you have not used the Resource List service before, or have other specific requirements, contact your faculty librarian. They can also help identify alternative resources, when copyright prevents digitisation.
You do not need to submit a purchase suggestion for class resources - just add them to the resource list as prescribed or recommended resources.

The Library has developed self-paced online courses that students can complete and evidence in Beyond Bond. You are also welcome to complete them yourself, or recommend them to your students.

The Library has hundreds of thousands of titles either in the collection or in subscription databases. If we don't have something we aim to make it simple for you to request items.

Smaller one-off purchases can generally be made immediately based on an academic's recommendation, subject to availability. If you can't find the resource in Library Search, you can use this blank request form.
New subscriptions are carefully considered based on a number of criteria including demand from staff and students, relevance to teaching, learning and research, and cost.
Library Services maintains a balance of subscriptions that best meet the academic needs of the University. Subscriptions require an ongoing financial commitment from limited funds, amongst competing resources.
It is helpful to indicate the subject(s) or program(s) this resource will support, or the reason you feel this resource would benefit teaching, learning or research at Bond, when recommending a purchase.
