Bondies walk away with $5837 for charity

The Bond University Community Outreach Group (BUCOG) has raised $5837 for Camp Quality’s Big Walk for Little Kids campaign, placing them eleventh on the national leader board. BUCOG President, Grace Pucci, says participating in the campaign was a “truly eye-opening experience”. “Knowing that BUCOG was able to bring everyone together to help young children suffering from cancer, and their families, is inspiring and only motivates me and my team to do even better in the future,” says Ms Pucci. “Our Executive Team could not believe how much support we received from fellow Bond students and the local community.”

Margaret sees scholarships through lens of her own experience

A former medical student who struggled at university but went on to co-found the Optical Superstore chain has announced new funding for scholarships for Indigenous students at Bond University. Margaret Douglas says she wants to make sure the students receive the support she missed out on as a young woman moving from rural Wangaratta in Victoria to study in Melbourne. The scholarships were announced during NAIDOC Week 2020 celebrations at Bond University.

Class of Covid 'more employable'

The Class of COVID endured disrupted studies and will finish Year 12 amid a recession but a leading psychologist says they will be more employable than previous cohorts. Bond University Associate Professor Peta Stapleton said the turmoil of 2020 would give graduates qualities such as resilience and flexibility which were sought-after in the workplace.

The Bond University Transformer program will showcase four innovative pieces by artist Eden Mili Tokatly in her first solo exhibition. The Australian-first entrepreneurship program is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students at the university.
