Bond notches 17 years in top spot

Unique experience: Students Grace Knight and Emily Krogsboel take part in a high ropes course at Currumbin Sanctuary, part of an adventure tourism subject at Bond University.

Bond University is Australia’s top university for educational experience for a 17th consecutive year.

The Gold Coast university’s number one ranking is confirmed in The Good Universities Guide 2023, to be released on Monday, September 12.

Bond tops all six categories of educational experience: learner engagement, learning resources, skills development (equal first), student support, teaching quality, and overall educational experience.

The clean sweep of five-star results cover undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Of undergraduates, 86 percent said they were satisfied with their overall educational experience at Bond. The figure for postgraduate students was 83 percent.

Bond also has the equal lowest student-to-teacher ratio of 11:1.

Vice President Future Students, Cheryl Jolliffe, said the results bookend Bond’s stellar performance in the federal government’s recent Student Experience Survey.

“To take the number one spot in the Good Universities Guide is an incredible achievement, and we’re particularly proud to have been rated number one for 17 consecutive years,” Ms Jolliffe said.

“Personalised teaching and learning are at the heart of everything we do, underpinning our exceptional student experience and graduate outcomes.

“Throughout the challenges of the past few years, we’ve maintained that personal learning model through face-to-face teaching.

“After the peak of the pandemic, our students returned quickly to campus, which we were able to support and maintain in part due to our small class sizes.”

The Good Universities Guide ranks 39 Australian universities.
