Bond tops every major Australian university for student experience

Bond University has again been rated as among the very best Australian universities for its undergraduate student experience.

Only the theological University of Divinity and the University of Notre Dame Australia ranked higher.

Bond students rated their education experience positively at 87.2 per cent in the 2019 Student Experience Survey, released on March 11.

It is the second consecutive year the Gold Coast university has held its spot in the federal government-funded survey.

Bond University Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Tim Brailsford, said the ranking was welcome recognition as Bond's 30th anniversary celebrations drew to a close.

We're constantly evolving our degree offerings but one thing that doesn’t change at Bond is our single-minded focus on our students," Professor Brailsford said.

"Our small class sizes and personalised approach sets us apart from other universities.

"Combine this with world-class academics, practical learning opportunities and links to industry and you have a winning combination when it comes to student experience and outcomes."

In January, Bond was ranked the No.1 university in Australia for producing the graduates employers want to hire. It was the second consecutive year the university took the top spot in the Employer Satisfaction Survey.

Olivia Smythe of Perth began studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Laws at Bond in January.

She hopes to specialise in paediatrics, nutrition and the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

“It's very surreal being here,” Ms Smythe said.

“It's nice to be around all these people and it opens your eyes to the amazing opportunity you have.

“So far it's been great and I'm loving it.”
