OXV: THE MANUAL HIT'S `HIGH FREQUENCY'

Film and Television lecturer Darren Paul Fisher’s film OXV: The Manual has premiered to rave reviews at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal last month. As the first of many, the film is expected to screen at film festivals around the world over the next 12 months.

Both Fantasia screenings were sold out, Fisher says the reaction has been truly incredible. Some of the most influential film news and review sites on the planet have commented; it’s beautifully made, intellectual and thought provoking with an otherworldly feel about it.

The film has been termed by the writer/director as the first scientific-philosophical romance. Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl and we descend down the rabbit hole of luck, emotion, frequency and chemistry where being in the right place at the right time can change the course of your fate. The film is poetic in its artistic direction and has been deemed as one of those little miracles that only independent cinema can produce. A work of resounding originality that blows a breath of fresh air across the film festival circuit.

Fisher made his feature film debut writing, producing and directing the innovative micro-budget ‘Inbetweeners’. Released by Universal, it became the first fully digital film ever to play the UK multiplexes. His second feature, teen romantic-comedy ‘Popcorn’ was released worldwide in 2007 and his third feature film is OXV: The Manual.

Amongst all of that Fisher is also heavily involved in film education and training. He’s been invited to sit on panels and teach at institutions all over the world. Currently holding the position of Senior Teaching Fellow at Bond. He also occasionally speaks as a film pundit and summariser on UK television.

With no rest at all, Fisher has commenced work on his new project; writing and producing the Australian feature comedy ‘Meter Maids’ with Stewart-Wall Entertainment (producers of the hugely successful Dr. Who spin-off series ‘K-9’).
