The Ripple Effect of Positive Change
On the 29th November Professor Kenworthy's LEAP colleagues and students presented a program-level component aimed at educators, business owners, and the wider community.
It was a highly interactive, visual and powerful presentation that shared principles, stories and information that had relevance across the whole community.
The 'One Goal, One Community' program is designed using tenets of service-learning and persuasion to provide information about bullying and ways to address it to students, parents and other community members through partnerships with schools, businesses and community organisations. To date, over 40,000 people have made commitments to engage in positive anti-bullying behaviour as a result of this program, through partnerships with 25 schools and over 200 organisations across Australia, as well as in two regions of the United States.
The fundamental ethos is the ripple effect of positive change - the idea that every single person has the potential to be an agent of positive change to make a difference in the community.
