Miss Kana Nakano

Assistant Professor

Faculty of Law

Research interests

My primary area of interest is intellectual property law. I have worked closely with my colleague Prof William van Caenegen on the topic of geographical indications and trade marks law, which has resulted in a number of publications in both international and domestic journals. I have also been involved in several major projects considering the possibility of introducing sui generis GI protection in Australia for foodstuffs as well as issues relating to regulatory design.

I also have an interest in legal education and most recently co-authored a report with Prof Sally Kift commissioned by the Council of Australian Law Deans on reimagining the regulation of legal education. I continue to be actively involved in this area of research.
