Cavalry arrives for Norths Eagles match

Devon Henson will play his first game back from a shoulder injury if named in the team.

The return of key players from illness and injury have bolstered the Bull Sharks’ hopes for a win against Norths Eagles this weekend.

After their first loss of the season last week, going down 31-15 to Wests Bulldogs, Bond will be aiming to bounce back with the return of fullback Jayden Ngamanu and Irishman Matt Dalton who have been out with illness.

Tyler Campbell and Devon Henson will also be available for selection this weekend for the first time this season.

Campbell has fought his way back from two consecutive ACL knee injuries and will play for Bond for the first time since April 2021, if named in the team.

Henson, the powerful backrower standing at 1.94m tall and weighing in at 117kg, will be looking for the chance to play his first game of 2022 after sustaining a shoulder injury in a pre-season trial.

Coach Grant Anderson expects another physical contest this weekend.

“There is no easy game in this competition and Norths at home are always strong and are quality footballers who always challenge the defensive line in the way they play,” he said.

Sticking to the structure would be critical for Bond this week if they want to bring home a win, he said.

“If we go hard at our systems and not try to score off every phase, we will put ourselves in the best position to score points in what should be a lot drier track to this week.”

The Bull Sharks first grade side will be in action at 3.05pm on Saturday afternoon at Hugh Courtney Oval. The match will also be broadcast live on Stan Sport.
