Bull Sharks seek redemption at GPS

Redemption is the order of the day for the Bull Sharks against GPS in round 15.

The Premier Men want to atone for last week’s poor showing while Colts 1 are still hurting from their last clash with the Gallopers.

Premier Men

Hamish Roberts
Hamish Roberts has been a key player this season

Last time they met:

Rd 5, 2024 at The Canal

Bull Sharks won 26-17

The opposition:

They are a very big forward pack and have some very dangerous contracted Reds players. They are desperate to hold on to their spot in the top four so it will be a very tough game.

Shuffling the magnets:

We are hoping to have the return of Jack Winchester, he will have to do a fitness test on Thursday. We’re looking to change the personnel of our back three as well.

One to watch:

Vinnie Quigley will be much better after his first game in First Grade for a quite a while.

The focus:

Our physicality in our defence needs to be better than last week.

The final word:

It’s an opportunity to redeem themselves from last week’s low point of the season.

With Mick Heenan.

Premier Women

Bull Sharks player

Last time they met:

Rd 5, 2024 at The Canal.

Bull Sharks won 41-12.

The opposition:

They're tough and aggressive up front, which is always a good challenge for us and one we look forward too.

Shuffling the magnets:

Hopefully we can welcome the return of a few of our backs back into the mix, Gabrielle Rivers, a standout player in last season’s campaign, will look to return from injury.

Cobie Jane Morgan and Ariana Hira will also be welcome additions.

Ones to watch:

Eva Doblo made her debut on the wing last week and was very impressive in attack, will look to see if she can continue her form.

The focus:

We were happy with the hit-out last week and will look to continue to build on that performance again this week.

With Shannon Symon.

Colts 1

Last time they met:

Rd 5, 2024 at The Canal.

Bull Sharks lost 40-5.

On reflection:

Last time we met we got hammered. It was a day where we didn’t show up mentally.

The opposition:

They have a good lineout and move the ball really well, they have lost a few games but all have been extremely close so they will determined to beat us.

Shuffling the magnets:

We have lost Oliver James who has gone overseas for a month and Josh Horua is away. Will Carter comes in and Cal Simpson Is back from U18 representative duties.

One to watch:

Will Carter has been unlucky not to start more, he's very tough and physical on defence.

The focus:

Our focus is to keep building our strengths around set piece and attacking the channels. Tackle height with the new law was always going to challenge a few players and we are seeing that in our penalty count so we will keep working on that.

The final word:

We are looking to reverse an embarrassing result last time we played and will be more direct and physical this time around.

With Rico Gear.
