Learning outcomes
- Critically review the philosophical foundations of free speech and controls on free speech, and investigate how freedom of speech is or is not protected within Australia and internationally.
- Interpret the competing normative claims of legal doctrines relating to information communication within the public domain.
- Identify and apply doctrines, principles and rules of media law to contemporary legal challenges.

Must have completed a minimum 20 Credit Points of LAWS. Must be admitted into a Bachelor Law degree OR Bachelor of Laws combined degree OR be an approved Law Study Abroad OR Law Exchange student. This subject is not available as a general elective. To be eligible for enrolment, the subject must be specified in the students’ program structure. |
