You are able to add, withdraw and swap subjects but you should ensure you understand how withdrawing from your original subjects may affect your enrolment, grades and fees. Read on for information about changing your enrolment.
Adding or swapping subjects
You can add and swap subjects via your Study Plan in Student. Read through the Enrolment page to learn how to enrol in subjects via your Study Plan in eStudent.
-
When can I add or swap subjects?
You must enrol in your subjects on or before the census date for the semester or teaching period you're studying in.
You can add or swap subjects until the Last Enrolment date for the subject which is two weeks before the census date for standard subjects. Intensive and non-standard subjects will differ. Please check individual subject pages for the specific date - listed on the main page in the section underneath the Subject Outlines.
Census date is the date in each teaching period by which you need to have your enrolment requirements finalised. You cannot add subjects after the census date. Any withdrawals after the census date will incur the full financial penalty. More information about census dates.
Adding and swapping subjects in the two weeks before the census date
After the Last Enrolment date you cannot add or swap subjects via your Study Plan and must apply to change your enrolment.
You must have the written approval of the Lead Educator and the Student Affairs and Service Quality (SASQ) Manager of the Faculty to be able to enrol in a subject after the Last Enrolment date up until the Teaching Census date. These dates are published on the individual subject page on the Bond website. This approval can be forwarded via email. Please note that approval is not routinely provided. You will be required to explain the circumstances that prevented you from enrolling in the subject prior to the Last Enrolment date.
-
What happens next?
We won't approve your application to change your enrolment if:
- the Lead Educator does not approve your enrolment
- the Faculty Student Affairs and Service Quality Manager does not approve your enrolment
- you have current sanctions on your Bond student account
- the subject is full
- the subject clashes with your existing enrolment
Withdrawing from subjects
Withdrawing from individual standard subjects can be done via eStudent up until the census date for the current semester (end of week 4 for standard subjects). Please check the individual subject page on the website to determine the census date for any subject, including non-standard. Find your subjects here. The Subject dates are listed on the main page in the section underneath the Subject outlines.
If you want to withdraw from a subject after the census date for that subject, please email Student Assist to request withdrawal. International student visa holders must discuss and seek approval for withdrawal from the International Student Team Coordinator prior to withdrawing and must provide supporting documentation along with a personal statement with any request.
Before you withdraw from any subjects, make sure you understand how it might affect your enrolment, grades or fees. Refer to the Academic Calendar. You may still have to pay fees for subjects you withdraw from.
