Leading business identity Tony Shepherd AO to discuss Australia's economic challenges

Menzies Research Centre director, Tony Shepherd AO, will discuss the economic challenges facing Australia at a business lunch at Bond University this month (June).

The former Business Council of Australia president and National Commission of Audit chairman will draw on his extensive experience to provide a highly-qualified insight into the country's economic future at the Bond Business Leaders Forum on Monday, 26 June.

Mr Shepherd has had an extensive career in both the private and public sectors in Australia and overseas.

He is Chairman of global infrastructure fund Macquarie Specialised Management Limited, the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust, AFL Greater Western Sydney (GWS) Giants and subscription television association ASTRA.

He is also a Director of Virgin Australia International Holdings Limited, Racing New South Wales and an advisor to Lend Lease, the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ and the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) External Advisory Panel.

As the former Chairman of WestConnex, Mr Shepherd oversaw the listing of Transurban, Transfield Services and Connect East. He has pioneered private infrastructure projects such as the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Melbourne City Link and East Link.

The Bond Business Leaders Forum will run from 11.45am to 2:30pm on Monday, 26 June, at Bond University's Princeton Room (located in Building 6), with free parking available on campus.

Single tickets are $75 with a table of 10 available for $600, which includes a two-course luncheon and beverages
