Professional biography
Skye is Assistant Professor (Research Convener) to the Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice at Bond University. Skye’s research is focused on evidence-based practice in dietetics and health services; and is targeted to the specific fields of ageing, gastroenterology, oncology, and bariatrics.
Having previously held leadership positions in Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG), and the Australasian Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (AuSPEN); Skye’s current volunteer positions are as Associate Editor of the Nutrition Journal, and as a member of the Board of Editors on the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and Maturitas.
Teaching expertise
As Research Convener, Skye uses a practical, real-world, and hands-on teaching style and transformative mentorship to develop student dietitians into evidence-based practitioners and researchers. As research convenor, Skye guides students to lead and manage their own research project from idea inception through to publication in peer-reviewed journals.Teaching awards
