Program overview

Bond University College’s Foundation Program (Generalist Program) is designed for international students only who have completed the equivalent of Australian Year 11 and meet the English language requirements to prepare them for undergraduate study at Bond University. Please note conditional offers may be made on the basis of forecasted examination results. If you are an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa student, please see Bond’s Diploma Preparation Program.

The two-semester full-time study program focusses on the core academic and English language skills, as well as the key independent learning skills required for university-level studies with alternate pathways to help you transition into your chosen undergraduate program. You can view the entry requirements to enter your chosen undergraduate programs here.

You’ll benefit from extra support as you adjust to your new life in Australia and our interactive, discussion-based style of learning. We offer extra face-to-face teaching sessions in small classes where teachers know you by name. Additional student support is available with access to the University’s counselling services, medical clinic and international student services team.

You’ll be part of Bond University from day one, with full access to the libraries, computer labs, multimedia learning centre, and recreational facilities.

Depending on your final Foundation Program results, you’ll have the option of enrolling directly into a Bond bachelor’s degree or continuing on at Bond University College to study a diploma in your chosen study area followed by your bachelor’s degree at the third semester mark.

Hear from our Bondies

  • Foundation Program

Moving far away from home, I didn't know what to expect but everyone here at Bond is wonderful. It was easy to fit in and make friends that are like a second family to me now. The Foundation Program has given me a new outlook on university life, where the class learning environment is very calm and interesting. It has prepared me to better know what to expect during my degree. I am so glad to be given the opportunity and happy to have made a decision I know I will never regret.

    Mona Izzeldin - Alumna, Sudan
  • The academic staff are all very qualified with many years of teaching experience. Prior to Bond, I was employed at an International School in Vietnam and I also taught Cambridge AS and A levels courses in Literature and English Language. Bond’s two semester (eight month) Foundation Program offers a broad and practical range of subjects. Students experience the requirements of a University course while still being given the instruction and support to improve their English and academic skills.
