In this program, you will develop and enhance your skills in conflict resolution and family mediation with the subjects offered as part of the Graduate Certificate offered by the Centre for Dispute Resolution.  The Centre is recognised as a leader in mediation training excellence.
 
As a graduate of this program, you will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and understanding of the practice standards required by the National Mediator Accreditation System.
 
On completion, this qualification can lead to accreditation as a mediator through the National Mediation Accreditation System (NMAS) as well as meeting the requirements for registering as an FDRP with the Federal Attorney General’s Department.

About this program

The Graduate Certificate in Family Dispute Resolution is a postgraduate program offered by the Faculty of Law, which, on completion, may also lead to national mediation accreditation as well as family dispute resolution practitioner registration. The subjects offered as part of the Graduate Certificate run in conjunction with the Dispute Resolution Centre which is recognised as a leader in mediation excellence. Graduates of this program will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and understanding of the ethical principles as required by the National Mediator Accreditation System and will also have completed subjects which satisfy the six core competencies prescribed under the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2008.

    You will graduate ready to work with separating parents to facilitate their post separation decision making which are in the best interest of their children.

  • Accreditation eligible

    Graduate the program with the necessary requirements to be eligible to apply for accreditation Mediator under the National Mediation Accreditation System Board (MSB) as well as a Family Dispute Practitioner with the Federal Attorney General’s Office.

  • Gain practical training

    The course includes all the practical training needed which includes the required 50 hours of training for FDRP accreditation purposes.
