Student academic progress
Successful academic progress is about you and Bond University working together to ensure you can successfully complete your program and graduate.
As a student enrolled in a coursework program, you are expected to take responsibility for your learning and maintain a satisfactory level of academic progress. Bond also has a mandated responsibility to monitor your academic progress (refer to the Academic Progress Policy).
If you are experiencing difficulties, it’s important to tell us early so we can assist you in implementing steps to improve your academic progress. Your study plan may be amended while you overcome these difficulties. You can also improve your academic success by making use of the array of personal and academic support services that Bond offers.
Each semester your progress will be monitored and you will be given a status of either good standing, academic warning, conditional enrolment or academic exclusion. The below information should be used as a general guide only. Students are advised to refer to the Academic Progress Policy and, where applicable, program-specific Rules of Assessment and Progression.

Good Standing
Where you are achieving satisfactory academic progress and are permitted to continue in your program of study.

Academic Warning
Where you have failed at least 50 percent of the credit points attempted in a semester or failed a level of the English program.
If you do not maintain a satisfactory level of academic progress, you will receive an academic warning and be offered learning and other support services to assist you with your studies through the implementation of a personalised intervention strategy. -
Conditional Enrolment
Where you have received an academic warning in the previous semester and fail at least 50 percent of the credit points in the following semester or fail the same level of the English program, the University may impose limitations and conditions on your enrolment. This is done to assist you in successfully returning you to the status of Good Standing.
Not all students are offered conditional enrolment as it depends on the program you are enrolled in. -
Academic Exclusion
Where previous interventions have failed to satisfy the University that you are able to maintain a satisfactory level of academic progress in your program of study you will receive a notice that you have been excluded. You have several options to choose from including:
1. Accept the exclusion and re-evaluate
You may choose to take a break from your studies to address the issues that led to the exclusion and/or re-evaluate your future academic and career goals. There may be an option to apply for readmission following a period of exclusion which is usually for a minimum of two semesters.2. Transfer to another program of study
You may be eligible to apply for admission into a different program within the same or a different area of study. This will be at the discretion of the Executive Dean for the Faculty in which the program is offered. Normal admission rules apply and you may also be admitted on conditions as determined by the Faculty.3. Appeal the exclusion
You may appeal your academic exclusion to the University Appeals Committee (UAC). You will be provided with information regarding your option to appeal as part of the formal notification process. Students should consult the Appeals Against Academic Exclusion Procedure.

The UAC will either affirm the decision to exclude you from your program or it may allow you to continue your studies under specific enrolment conditions. You will be notified in writing of the outcome usually within 10 business days of the determination being made.
