Nestled between the beautiful hinterland and some of the nation’s favourite beaches, the Gold Coast provides an endless itinerary of things to do. We are a diverse city, with over a quarter of our residents born overseas, something that we’re immensely proud of and that is reflected in local businesses, cultural events, and community-led gatherings.
Food
The Gold Coast’s food scene is something special – mouth-watering cuisine from all around the world meets gorgeous venues and our trademarked laid-back atmosphere. You’ll find everything from fine dining to simple yet satisfying eats here, whether you stick to city hotspots or venture out.
We’re big coffee aficionados, too – there’s nothing more typically Gold Coast than an incredible breakfast at a local café, complete with your favourite meal and go-to caffeinated beverage.
Within walking distance of Bond, you will find a few magical coffee spots to grab your early morning cup of joe, including Blackboard Coffee, whose beans can be found roasting all around Australia. There are also a number of great takeaway restaurants and more formal dining options at nearby Market Square in Varsity Lakes, a popular haunt for our Bondies.
Entertainment
There’s far more to do here on the Gold Coast than first meets the eye, and it’s only getting more and more exciting – the city is practically unrecognisable from what it was just a decade ago. Explore cultural pursuits and entertainment options both here and in Brisbane, approximately an hour’s train ride or drive to the north, and Queensland’s biggest city and capital.
Here on the Gold Coast, you will find entertainment, events and activities of all shapes and sizes wherever you look. Some of the most popular spots include Home of the Arts (HOTA), an art gallery, cinema and theatre combo that often hosts live music, plays, musicals and events. Miami Marketta is another must-visit venue, combining live music and entertainment with food trucks multiple nights per week.
