Libby Taylor
Co-director, Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Dean, Learning & Teaching
Libby is a Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching) in the Bond University Faculty of Law. Libby undertook her first basic mediation course in 1997. She teaches dispute resolution in the faculty and is currently the Co-Director of the Centre for Dispute Resolution (CDR).
Libby is a nationally accredited mediator and an accredited family dispute resolution practitioner. She currently runs mediation and family dispute resolution training courses in Australia together with assessment courses for accreditation purposes. Her area of teaching expertise is dispute resolution. She has facilitated mediating training in Hong Kong. Libby was admitted as a legal practitioner in 1981 and has practised in the area of family law. Libby currently practises as a family dispute resolution practitioner.
Rachael Field
Co-director, Professor of Law
Rachael is a Professor of Law in the Bond University Faculty of Law, and Co-Director of the Centre for Dispute Resolution and Bond’s Centre for Professional Legal Education. Her areas of teaching and research expertise include dispute resolution, family law and domestic violence, lawyer and law student well-being and legal education. Rachael has published widely in the dispute resolution field and completed a PhD on mediation ethics in 2011. She is the author of Australian Dispute Resolution (LexisNexis, 2022) and is co-author with Laurence Boulle of Australian Dispute Resolution Law and Practice (LexisNexis, 2017) and Mediation in Australia (LexisNexis, 2018). Rachael is an Australian Learning and Teaching Fellow (2010), the winner of a National Teaching Citation (2008) and an Australian Teaching Excellence Award (2014), and she is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She founded the Australian Wellness Network for Law and co-founded the ADR Research Network.
Rachael is a member of the Queensland Law Society Well-Being Working Group, Domestic and Family Violence Committee and the Family Law Specialist Accreditation Committee. She has been a volunteer with Women’s Legal Service, Brisbane since 1993 and is now an Ambassador for the Service. In 2013 Rachael was named Queensland Woman Lawyer of the Year and in 2020 she was elected a life-long Academic Bencher of the Inner Temple in London.
