Week at Bond
Welcome to our newest Bondies!
From the second you accept your offer and enrol in your classes, you are officially part of the Bond community. We can’t wait to bring Orientation to you and take you on a whirlwind tour of our University before you get stuck into your studies.
Orientation is a series of events and activities designed to introduce you to Bond, your academics, peers, and key support staff and services, and serves as an opportunity to start building your new network.
On this page, you will find lots of resources to help you settle in and start the semester strong. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and join our Instagram Broadcast Channel to stay up to date with our student community.
January dates
We can't wait to welcome you to campus! Orientation will run between Tuesday, 13 January and Friday, 16 January 2026 (please note- First Nations Orientation week starts on Monday, 12 January).
What do you need to do before Orientation?
Before arriving at Bond, you must upload your photo to the CaptureME portal. This photo will be used for identification on Bond’s Student Learning Management System (iLearn) and for your Student ID card.
Once your photo is approved, you can collect your Student ID card from Don’s Tavern (BLD10_1_08) between 9am and 4pm AEST during Orientation Week. If you are living on campus, your Student ID card will be provided when you check in to Student Housing.
Your Student ID is essential for accessing campus buildings, borrowing library books, and more. After completing enrolment, upload your photo via CaptureME and collect your card during Orientation.

Essential information for new Bondies
Welcome to Bond! Starting at a new university presents lots of unique challenges, from how to get from A to B, to getting in the swing of study and campus life. We want to help – here’s everything you need to know.

What is '261'?
At Bond, we refer to each semester with a three-digit number. The upcoming January semester is 261. To work out the semester number, take the last two digits of the year (e.g. 2026 - '26') and the number of the semester (we're in the first semester, so use '1'). Your first lesson as a Bondy, sorted!

How do I access Bond’s IT network?
Ready for your brand new email address? If you haven't done so already, make sure you activate your Student IT account! Simply accept the terms and conditions and create a new password - then you will be all set to access your email and our network.
Once you've activated your IT account, find the BondStudents network on your device and use your Student ID and password to connect.
Having trouble connecting to the IT Network? Visit Student Assist located in the Main Library (BLD01_2_53) for assistance Monday - Friday between 9am and 4pm AEST.
Experiencing technical problems? Don’t panic. You can watch the IT support tutorials below or call the IT Service Desk on +61 7 5595 4444 Monday - Friday between 8am and 5pm AEST.

What should I know about online safety at Bond?

How do I get around campus easily?
It won’t take long for Bond to feel like home. But, so you can settle in sooner, we’ve got some handy tips and tricks to help you navigate your first week.
Reading room numbers
Bond’s rooms are labelled in the order of building number, then level, then room number. For example, 06_02_01 indicates Building 6, Level 2, Room 1.
Once you know the formula, you’ll never get lost again. Check out the online campus map to see all the building numbers and their locations.
MazeMap – your virtual guide
Need directions? There’s an app for that! MazeMap is Bond’s virtual map, where you can find your way around Bond’s main campus and Institute of Health and Sport by simply searching for a location, then selecting ‘directions’. The app will use your current location to guide you to where you need to go.

Where can I park on campus?
Bond University has an online system to register your vehicle for a parking permit. Fines will be issued if you have not registered your vehicle.
Car parking for enrolled students is free where users park in accordance with the terms and conditions of use as displayed on entries to the University and on the Parking webpage.
To register for a student car parking permit, please click on the Useful Links tile in MyBond where you will find the Parking Permit link.

How do I get my student ID card?
If you are living on campus, attending on-campus classes and/or require access to on-campus facilities (e.g. library, Multimedia Learning Centre, Sports Centre), you will require a student ID card. Begin by uploading your photo to the CaptureME portal. You will be notified by email once your photo has been approved and your Student ID card is ready for collection at Don's Tavern (BLD10_1_08). You can collect your ID Monday - Friday between 9:00am and 4:00pm AEST during Orientation week.
If studying remotely and not attending campus, you must also upload your photo to the CaptureME portal. Your photo will be used for identification purposes on Bond's Student Learning Management System (iLearn). You can then collect your ID card when you are able to arrive on campus, you will not need it beforehand.

How do I manage my subjects, timetable, and enrolment?
You can enrol in your subjects and finalise your timetable online. If you're having issues, visit the friendly team at Student Assist, located in the Main Library (BLD01_2_53) for assistance Monday - Friday between 8.30am and 5pm AEST, or click below for tips on how to enrol.

Where can I get help with study skills, time management, and assignments?
Need help with planning your assignment, some tips for time management, a refresher on your Maths skills or ways to strengthen your study strategies?
The Academic Skills Centre (ASC) is made up of a team of experts ready to provide support, advice and a helping hand with your studies. Tune into one of their workshops or book a personal consultation online.

How do I buy textbooks for my subjects?
Some subjects have prescribed textbooks. These will be listed in the subject outline, which can be found on your subject's iLearn site. Ask your teacher if you are unsure.
The Library holds copies of prescribed textbooks in either print, eBook, or both formats.
To purchase a textbook, you can search for it in Library Search, then 'Check purchase options' to see availability and prices from a variety of retailers.

What library resources and services are available?
Bond University Library provides customer-focused, quality innovative services, information resources, and programs to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the University community.
Come to one of the scheduled Library Tours during O Week and the compulsory Get to Know your Faculty Librarian session, or pop in at any time to explore the Library spaces, resources, and services and meet the friendly, helpful staff.

Is there security on campus?
Safety and Security is here to support students, staff and the Bond community 24/7. If you ever find yourself in an uncertain situation, feel unsafe or are a victim of sexual harm, Security can be reached by phone at any time.

Which Orientation sessions are compulsory?
Please take note of all compulsory subjects and sessions students need to complete prior to week one. All compulsory sessions are listed in the orientation schedule.

Where can I access medical services on campus?
The Medical Clinic is a facility for currently enrolled students and staff members of Bond University. The Medical Clinic is located within Wellbeing Services – Level 1, Student Court, Building 9 (See location 9 on the Campus Map).

What is the Bond Law Clinic and who can use it?
Open to the community, the Bond Law Clinic provides free legal advice in the areas of commercial law, property law, business law and general legal advice.

Get to know your faculty
Your faculty is like your extended family at Bond and includes students from a number of programs and disciplines. Learn which faculty you're a part of and make sure you tune into the faculty welcome sessions during Orientation. If you’re studying a combined degree, you could be part of two faculties!
Meet BUSA
The Bond University Student Association - also known as BUSA - is your team of student representatives. The association facilitates a number of services and activities dedicated to ensuring your experience at Bond is everything you want it to be. BUSA also coordinates more than 100 student clubs and societies, and puts on lots of social events during the semester. Stay in the loop with all the fun stuff on Facebook and Instagram.
